More on Sukau Rainforest Lodge, Borneo, Malaysia	Sukau Rainforest Lodge (SRL) is perched on the banks of one of Malaysia 's most important waterways, the Kinabatangan River , on the East coast of Sabah . To reach the lodge, one must take a two hour boat ride from the city of Sandakan or make a 130 kilometre trip overland to Sukau. Sukau is a small community of 1,000 people who have depended on the Kinabatangan River for their livelihood for many generations.

Amazon Community Ecolodge - Silves, Aldeia dos Lagos	A beautiful area about 250 km north of Manaus, this community has undertaken a conservation project to manage fish stocks in their Amazon lake. There is also a micro-enterprise harvesting and processing nuts and other amazon plants into essential oil products like glycerine soaps and mosquito repellent candles.
