Sierra Llorona. A  family-operated birdwatchers jungle lodge with comfortable accommodations in a private reserve of 200 hectares at  Panama tropical rain forest.  Caribbean slope of the Panama Canal . A great place for birders and for nature lovers seeking respite from urban living.

The birds are numerous and easy to see even at the gardens surrounding the jungle lodge, but the best birding is at the interlocking  trails that go into the forest jungle: La Poza, El Manakin,  and El Colibrí.

We have eight complete rooms for a maximum of 4 persons each, with private bathrooms,  hot water, ceiling fan,  cross ventilation with view to the woods in a  private balcony with a  hammock for the "siesta". There is also areas for conferences and meetings, music, Rancho-Bar, walking paths and three Trails of moderate and high intensity difficulties trough the humid rain forest of Sierra Llorona Private Reserve. Swimming g in the middle of the jungle is possible in natural ponds at La Poza Trail.

A series of walking paths and observation ground platforms surround the Lodge, prime locations to observe birds on the canopy of the forest, wait for the hummingbirds to come to the feeders, for night trekking, owling , or just lay back, relax and enjoy the panoramic view to Colon City, the Caribbean Ocean or admire  the abundant green tones that nature will show you.
We are  a great place to start learning the birds of the Caribbean Slope of Central Panama, but there's plenty of rarities to keep the experts busy.

The lodge is near world-famous birdwatching destinations in the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal Area, including Achiote Road, Escobal Road, Tiger Trail, the mangroves of Galeta Point, Gatún Locks and Lake, Margarita and Coco Solo. All of these spots are within the Atlantic Christmas Count Circle, held each December by the Panama Audubon Society. Other places like Pipeline Road and Plantation Road are an hour away from the lodge.

Services include complete private overnight accommodations, Panamanian cuisine served buffet style, laundry, land transportation from/to Tocumen International Airport, Panama City and Colón, and birdwatching, historical and cultural tours with English-speaking specialized guides.
